Marek Świeży has been the founder and president of Chomik Gdów for 31 years, operating based on Christian business ethics. For this reason, the “Chomik – Ku Dobremu Foundation” was established in 2019, which works for disabled children, adults and seniors. The Public Benefit Organization supports people at risk of social exclusion for various reasons, such as illness, difficult financial conditions, complicated family situation or loneliness.
The Foundation co-finances:
– specialist rehabilitation sessions,
– full or partial rehabilitation,
– specialist tests or various types of therapies, such as MEDEK, psychological or speech therapy,
– purchase of rehabilitation and auxiliary equipment,
The Foundation finances:
– fees for specialist kindergartens
– purchase of specialist medicines,
– purchase of specialist nutrition.
In addition to the Public Benefit Organization, it organizes meetings with families of people with disabilities and also distinguishes them from other non-governmental organizations.
One of the most important decisions that had a key impact on the development of the foundation and people with disabilities in the Wieliczka district is construction of the Rehabilitation Center.
The idea for its creation was born due to the low availability of rehabilitation provided in an inpatient and outpatient mode in the region. The construction of the Center began in 2023 on ul. Obrytka in Gdów and is currently underway, its progress can be followed on the website and social media of the foundation.
The Rehabilitation Center in Gdów, which is being built, will include:
– equipped with the best equipment and experienced therapists,
– the center will include rooms for: light therapy, ultrasound, laser, shock wave, low-frequency magnetic field (magnetonics) and cryotherapy, kinesitherapy, physical therapy and hydrotherapy,
– rooms for therapeutic massage and medical offices will also be available.
